Arriving as part of the A.P.C. x Brain Dead collaboration for autumn/winter ‘19, these blue Crypt Jeans are made from non-selvedge Japanese denim which has gone through a selective manufacturing process that incorporates a subtle all over text print. Cut to a straight slightly loose leg with caramel top stitching, the fabric was originally raw canvas which was then printed and stone washed to achieve the desired effect. The waist is secured by a single engraved button with a zippered fly below and on either side of the waist curved pockets are strengthened by engraved pockets on either corner with an additional coin pouch added within the right side. On the reverse two additional patch pockets are also available, both of which have been cut from the same printed canvas. If you are familiar with the fit of the A.P.C. Jean Standard, this style fits similarly but has a reduced leg length by 8cm.
Inspired by the 1972 documentary Future Shock, Parisian atelier A.P.C. have collaborated with Los Angeles streetwear company Brain Dead to design an experimental capsule range of apparel and accessories. With two distinct and quite different design characters, it’s an unlikely partnership that expresses the future of A.P.C. which appears to be incorporating more of a streetwear edge whilst maintaining their focus on premium quality and simplicity.
